Omaha NE is full of fun attractions for a great summer getaway. There are many attractions in Omaha, including art galleries and exotic animals.

Henry Doorly Zoo, a must see for animal lovers. There are many unique exhibits at the Henry Doorly Zoological Park, such as Lied Jungle or Dome Desert.

It is one the best museums in the Midwest. Its collection includes famous works of art.

Henry Doorly Zoo Aquarium

Henry Doorly Zoo is the most well-known attraction in Omaha. It’s a fun family experience. This is a place with amazing exhibits and exotic creatures, but they also take part in breeding and reintroduction projects to help save endangered species.

The world-class zoo is home to a variety of exhibits, including the Lied Jungle, the Cat Complex, Kingdoms of the Night as well as the Simmons Aviary. African Grasslands was the most recent addition. Lions left their crowded Cat Complex in order to join cheetahs. wild dogs, giraffe and white rhinos.

Membership to the zoo for a family includes entry to Lozier IMAX Theater which features different animal movies. The membership also includes unlimited visits to zoo and rides on Sue’s Wildlife Carousel featuring hand-carved animal sculptures from around the world. The classic merry-go round is a favorite among children because of its educational value. The zoo has a number of programs such as “edzoocational”, internships at the zoo, and adoption programs.

Omaha Children’s Museum

Omaha Children’s Museums (OCMs) are places where children can learn and challenge themselves through play. It is the most popular museum in Nebraska. It offers a variety of interactive exhibits, educational programs daily and special events.

The first level, which is a mini-town, was very popular with our kids. It had a gas pump, a grocery, a car mechanic, a treehouse, a hospital, a barn, and even a small Platte River. Also, they enjoyed the STEM area and the arts activities. JT, who is my son, was fascinated by the Super Gravitron. It’s a giant machine that resembles a ball.

All bathrooms have changing tables. The museum is stroller friendly. There is a Wiggle Room for children, with blocks and puzzles to play on soft flooring. Families can use this room if they are nursing mothers. Members can download eMembership card which reduces paper cards. The museum offers discounts and special events all year long. Also, they offer reciprocal advantages at other museums.

Old Market

Old Market is an area of downtown that includes shops, bars and restaurants. This area is surrounded by Heartland of America Park & Gene Leahy Mall. It’s an excellent place to wander around at night. Horse-drawn carriages line the streets, and there is always something happening.

City Limits is a great place to shop for eclectic or high-end items. Curbside Clothing and Hollywood Candy are also good choices. Raygun has a lot of funny shirts, cards and mugs. Made in Omaha is one of the many stores in this area that sells items made by local artists.

You’ll find a lot of activities and sights to enjoy in the Old Market. But don’t forget the Farmers Market. From May to Octember, you can find food, flowers and homemade products at the booths lining 11th Street and Jackson Street. Kids can enjoy the live music, the balloon man, and the entertainment.

Omaha Historical Museum

The museum in Omaha’s old Union Station is dedicated to the western region of Nebraska. This museum features stunning architecture and an abundance of interesting artifacts. The museum offers birthday parties and birthday events as well as field trips, tours and summer camps.
